Spirit of Horse Gallery

Kim McElroy is a Bainbridge Island, WA artist who paints the spirit of the horse. Journey into her world at her website. Here's what she says about her work:

"You know the feeling you get when something is so beautiful or profound that you can't quite put it into words? That is the feeling horses give me, and what I try to convey in my artwork and my writing.

Stay awhile and feel the presence of horses... if you can feel the emotions of my paintings through the internet, imagine what they would be like gracing the walls of your home. Each piece becomes a window to the beautiful spirit of the horse."

CLINICIANS

Buck Brannaman

"I started to realize that things would come much easier for me once I learned why a horse does what he does. This method works well for me because of the kinship that develops between horse and rider.

"Horses and life, it's all the same to me."

~ Buck Brannaman

Tom Dorrance

"The thing you are trying to help the horse do is to use his own mind. You are trying to present something and then let him figure out how to get there"

~ Tom Dorrance

Hosker Livestock

From an instructor’s standpoint, you can’t ask for two more honest, varied and learned teachers. Their vocabulary, their eyesight, their way of dealing with problems all work in such a way that you often have one teacher with two separate ways of approaching at and dealing with the same problem. If one cannot answer the problem in such a way that you can understand it, the other can. That is truly hard to find in this day and age—to find a vocabulary or an idea to get a theory across to everyone in a class, no matter how advanced or how much of a beginner the student is. Visit Mike and Deanie at their website and get to know them better.

Ray Hunt

"Working with the horse is a way of life for me. He's my livelihood, my hobby, my passion. If given a little thought, a little understanding, and a little common sense, the horse gives back in full measure. If the human can give 5%, the horse will come from the other side with 95%. The horse never ceases to amaze me with what he can get done with very little help from the human"

~ Ray Hunt

Peter Campbell

Visit Peter Campbell's web site to learn more about him or purchase his videos.

Harry Whitney

Harry Whitney prefers not to call himself a horse trainer. Instead, he’s simply someone who sees things from the horse's point of view - someone fluent in the language of horses.

Scot Hansen

"A horse can not distinguish between a correct lesson and a wrong lesson. The horse only knows he was taught something. It is up to you to decide which one he learns."

~ Scot Hansen

Discount Natural Herbs

I've known Sarah for a long time now and her wealth of information and resources always continues to amaze me. She is the first person I turn to whenever I need any types of herbs or specific medicines for the horses, dogs, cats and people. She helped Geri get over the loss of the eye by sending herbsbs for pain and for her recovery. She helped with Elegance's breathing problem, liver problems for previous ponies, EPM problems for Fred, and untold other maladies that we have faced. She helped me lower my cholesterol and helped my brother-in-law with lung problems...You name it, this lady can help or even just suggest where to turn to next.

And you simply can't beat the prices. Her replies to your queries and then her mail service is extremely fast. Items are often in your hands the very next day. I can't say enough about this woman and this company. So if you are looking for an alternative to Allopathic meds, or are looking for the very best in Chinese and other herbs at the best prices, please email Sarah. You simply can't go wrong.

BUILDERS

Old Town Builders

Craig Toups and Old Town builders were recommended to me by a friend in Tacoma. Craig was the builder we finally chose to totally redo the upstairs of our house. The quote was beyond fair, the work was done in an extremely timely manner, the subs were all trustworthy and so the job went without any of the trials and tribulations that often occur with a contractor and a remodel job. In fact, the job went so well and we were so happy with the outcome, that we have told quite a few others about the quality of workmanship, the honesty, the timeliness and the skill of Craig and his crew at Old Town.

When it came time to redo the arena this year, we thought only of Old Town Builders. They came up with the interesting and cost-saving idea of concrete pilings instead of totally wood walls. They engineered the new buttresses and truss hangings. Plus, they saved us an incredible amount of money by saving and reusing wall planks.

To top it off, Craig built the new 4' iron entrance gate using shoes from Alsace, Khadre and a few other TPA horses, making it more than just a gate. It is a special gift from a great friend who has given so much expertise and skill and time to this farm. Thank you Craig from all of us here at the farm for that friendship and caring.

So if you have a remodel job in mind, or a new building that you need put up, please call Craig at Old Town Builders. His fairness, his ideas, his skill and commitment to doing a great and timely job can't be talked about enough. You won't be disappointed.
